PANJIM: The State government modified its earlier order regarding inter-state movement of people, whereby various categories of fully vaccinated Goans and Goa-based workforce are now allowed to enter Goa without obtaining a Covid negative certificate.

Furthermore, from the four categories, only those people who have been fully vaccinated for a minimum of two weeks before the day of entry and those who are asymptomatic, are permitted to enter Goa.
As per the changed order, the four categories are – persons who enter Goa for purpose of work in industries, labour force, construction etc; persons who enter for the purpose of business and employment; residents of Goa stranded outside Goa for pandemic related or other such issues; residents of Goa who on account of their work requirements/ medical reasons are required to travel outside the State and return after a few days.
For others, a Covid negative test report from a Covid test that was done a maximum of 72 hours prior to entering Goa, is still mandatory. This applies to tourists too.
It may be recalled that the earlier government order exempted drivers and helpers on goods carrying vehicles and persons entering Goa on medical emergency from carrying a Covid negative certificate. They are still exempted as per the modified order.
The revised order comes after the High Court of Bombay at Goa permitted the changes.
