The mining imbroglio continues as Centre, State and Mine Owners failed to reach any consensus. While the Centre is firm on its decision that the State government should initiate a process to e-auction the mining leases, the State is exploring options of setting up a Mining Corporation or a legislative cure. The mine owners are also of the strong view that a legislative cure, thereby allowing them to operate the mines till 2037, be adopted to resume iron ore activities in Goa.
