MARGAO: Replying to South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar’s letter requesting relaxation of CRZ regulations for traditional fishermen, Union Minister of Environment and Forest (MOEF) Prakash Javdekar has clarified that the CRZ notification of 2011 classifies the CRZ areas of Goa as areas requiring special consideration.
This was revealed by Sawaikar after inaugurating the Jaipur Foot camp in Margao on Friday.
He announced that Javdekar had officially replied to his letter which was sent on July 28 requesting the MoEF to provide relaxation under the CRZ notification with regard to the construction and repair of fisherfolk’s houses.
