June 19 wettest day of season

PANJIN: Friday turned out to be the wettest day of the season so far as it recorded more than 100mm rainfall in 24 hours. The rainfall deficiency that was a major concern in the state has been now balanced as the total rainfall recorded so far has reached 495.1 mm, which is normal for this stage of the season.

Mormugao saw heavy rainfall on Friday of over 150mm, followed by Dabolim and Margao which crossed 130mm.     
Goa Met Centre has adviced fishermen not to go out to the sea for the next 24 hours, as the sea will be rough with south-westerly waves. The wind speed is expected to reach speeds of 60 kmph in gusts.
