Kazi on panel of Islamic bank

Salim Kazi, general secretary of the Association of All Goa Muslim Jamats, has been appointed on the panel of Islamic Development Bank (western regional panel), an international developmental bank supporting and funding its educational and training projects in India.
Kazi, ex-director of EDC Ltd, project consultant and social worker, was recently appointed as a panel member for 3 years.
The Islamic Development Bank (western region) comprises Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Rajashtan and Madhya Pradesh, states the press note.
“Salim Kazi, general secretary of Association of All Goa Muslim Jamats, will be associated with the evaluation of the educational projects in the western region of India,” adds the press note.
“Islamic Development Bank (IDB), based in Saudi Arabia, is the world’s leading development bank supporting education, health and training worldwide for Muslim communities, with its presence in 53 countries.”
“Presently, seven members have been nominated in the western region panel and Kazi is the first Goan to be nominated in the prestigious bank panel,” added the press note.
“Islamic Development Bank has supported through grants numerous educational institutions in India and has also sanctioned funds for about 228 projects since in India.”
“The projects include vocational institutes, schools, ITI, hostel building and scholarships to meritorious Muslim students. Projects are sanctioned after clearance from Government.”
Kazi is a graduate engineer with 24 years experience in project financing, project coordination, training in self employment and HRD. “I will try to get funds for developmental projects in the State through this bank,” he said.
