The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited has conducted its annual pre-monsoon inspection across the Konkan Railway route to assess preparedness and review safety measures ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.
The inspection was led by Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman and Managing Director of KRCL, along with directors and senior officials from various departments. The team reviewed vulnerable locations, ongoing maintenance works and safety arrangements to ensure uninterrupted and safe train operations during the rainy months.

According to officials, the section between Madgaon Railway Station and Thokur Railway Station was inspected on March 10, 2026. This was followed by an inspection of the stretch between Madgaon and Roha Railway Station on March 11.
During the inspection, officials carried out a detailed review of railway tracks, bridges, tunnels, slopes, cuttings, signalling systems and waterlogging-prone locations along the route. Station infrastructure and solar lighting installations were also examined.
The team also assessed preventive measures being implemented to tackle heavy rainfall and challenging terrain, which are common across the Konkan region during the monsoon season.
Officials said that such annual inspections form a crucial part of Konkan Railway’s proactive approach to strengthen safety systems and ensure the network remains fully prepared to handle the operational challenges posed by the monsoon.
