Konkan Railway conducted a Family Counselling Session in Margao on November 13, 2025, for families of Loco Pilots, Train Managers, Pointsmen and other frontline staff who play vital roles in ensuring smooth and safe train operations. The programme aimed to help families better understand the demanding nature of these safety-critical duties, which require precision, constant alertness and emotional stability.
The session highlighted the importance of mental well-being, strong family support and a healthy work–life balance, all of which contribute to enabling employees to perform efficiently under pressure.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, CMD of KRCL, stressed that the safety of thousands of passengers depends on staff who work long hours and face challenging operational conditions. He noted that the emotional strength provided by families is essential to keeping these employees focused and balanced.
Smt. Manisha Jha, Chairperson of KRWC & SSA, spoke about holistic family wellness, compassionate communication, and fostering supportive home environments that help employees excel at work.
Regional Railway Manager (Karwar) Ms. Asha Shetty, along with senior Konkan Railway officials, also participated in the event. They interacted with families and reiterated the organisation’s commitment to promoting mental health, emotional resilience and a people-centric culture among its workforce.
An open forum allowed families to share concerns, suggestions and queries directly with CMD Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, strengthening engagement and mutual understanding between KRCL and the families of its frontline staff.
Konkan Railway stated that initiatives like these reaffirm its dedication to cultivating a healthy, positive and safe work environment, emphasising that family support and employee well-being form the foundation of reliable and secure railway operations.
