Konkan Railway staff played a crucial role in rescuing a missing 14-year-old boy who was travelling alone without a ticket on Train No. 12619 Matsyagandha Express on November 20. During a routine ticket check, Head Ticket Examiner Pradeep Z. Shrike noticed the boy dressed in a school uniform and questioned him, soon realising that he had run away from home.
Shrike immediately alerted the Commercial Control office and requested Railway Protection Force (RPF) assistance at Ratnagiri station. Upon arrival, the RPF team took the child into safe custody.
Further verification revealed that the boy had been reported missing from his school in Vasco, with his worried parents circulating messages seeking help in locating him.
Thanks to the alertness of the ticket checking staff and swift coordination with the RPF, the teenager was safely reunited with his family.
