In their detailed discussion with Parrikar, the chief minister assured the delegation to immediately release two instalments of sixth pay arrears by Thursday.
The KTCL management and transport department were also asked to keep the papers ready for disbursement of the payment.
“The chief minister also assured that he will look into the other issues of the KTCL workers and allied employees pertaining to regularization of daily wage workmen, payment of pending bonus-cum-ex-gratia, implementation and payment of arrears of ACPs and MACPs, etc,” a press statement issued by the association states.
In a general body meeting held on Sunday, the association under AITUC Goa had decided to boycott work from Thursday onwards to protest the failure of KTCL management to pay the workmen four instalments of sixth pay commission arrears and solve other issues related to the payments.
Meanwhile, the chief minister has also informed the delegation that in case of some workers who are found medically unfit to work as drivers and mechanics, he would give them benefit of voluntary retirement to which union said that any VRS would have to be discussed before its implementation.
The union has thus assured to carry on the bus services smoothly.
