KTC to build 4 ultra modern bus hubs; work commencing soon

PANJIM: The Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) is set to come up with ‘ultra modern bus hubs’ across four cities in the State. KTC Managing Director Derrick Pereira Neto said that Panjim, Mapusa, Margao and Vasco have been chosen with work almost commenced.
“The work at Vasco has already begun while at other places, the process has been initiated to obtain permissions,” he told Herald. The construction of the modern bus stands will be taken up by the GSIDC under Central funds.
In Panjim, the existing bus stand will be converted into a new one.
Meanwhile, KTCL Chairman Carlos Almeida said that completing bus stands across the State along with looking after the welfare of the employees is his priority. “Completing the bus stands at various places in Goa and looking after the welfare of our employees is what we are focusing on at the moment,” Almeida said speaking at the 38th Anniversary celebrations of KTCL held at KTC Bus Stand, Panjim, on Thursday.
New bus sands at Marcel, Pernem and Valpoi have recently come into operations; however, work to equip these with basic facilities like toilets, drinking water, etc would soon be taken up. The Corporation expects to earn fixed revenue by way of commercialisation.
