Parsekar, speaking on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of KTC, also congratulated the staff for good service to the people when the transporters went on strike last month.
Parsekar said that the Corporation’s revenue has increased by 14% over the last year’s and that expenditure has been curtailed by 11%.
Transport Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar said that KTC staff should cooperate with the people and that the demand of the employees be taken up with the government but not by affecting the public life.
The transport minister assured the KTC staff that their pending issues will be resolved shortly. “Goa government and other departments are cooperating with the Corporation and its demands but the union and the staff also should properly cooperate with us to resolve the issues faster,” Dhavalikar said.
The Corporation, which was established in 1980 with four staff and one bus, has now completed 35 years of service and its bus strength has gone to 550 and staff to 2012. The CM said that 23 buses will be added to the existing strength.
KTC staffers were felicitated for doing a good job and their children felicitated for good academic performance.
