PANJIM: Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) employees have decided to hold a day long demonstration in Panjim on November 28, to protest against the Corporation’s failure to fulfill their long pending demands including regularisation of services and awarding promotions.
The demonstration would be held at Kranti Circle, opposite KTC bus stand, under the banner of KTC Drivers and Allied Employees Association (AITUC). KTC Union has been demanding from the management to give first preference to departmental candidates through promotions for filling the vacant posts in the Corporation rather than making direct recruitments.
AITUC alleges that the KTC management is biased towards its own staffers by denying promotions to deserving candidates, who have been serving the Corporation for last over 20 years.
AITUC General Secretary Christopher Fonseca pointed out that Corporation has failed to regularise the services of daily wage employees who are into services for over seven years. The KTC has also failed to pay VI Pay Commission arrears.

“It has also failed to pay bonus-cum-ex-gratia to all the KTC employees for last four years and has also not released Golden Jubilee special award of Rs 5,000, as assured by government,” he said.
