COLLEM: A 45-year-old labourer from Margao drowned in the Dudhsagar River at Signal Khond on Sunday.
According to Collem PSI Sachine Lokhere, a group of 20 labourers, working under a contractor, had gone for a picnic at Dudhsagar River. After having their meals, some labourers entered the waters.
Police further informed that Gajendra also entered the river. However, since he was unable to swim, he drowned in the river. The incident occurred at about 2.30 pm. Police along with the help of a local youth and some tourists fished out the body of Gajendra.
Collem Police after conducting the panchanama sent the body to GMC Hospital in Bambolim for post-mortem. PSI Lokhere is investigating.
