Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday declared that his party will form the government in Goa on its own after the 2027 assembly polls. Arriving on a three-day visit, Kejriwal claimed that people have lost faith in both the ruling BJP and opposition Congress.
Addressing media outside Dabolim Airport, he said, “The BJP has been ruling Goa for the last 13 years. The Congress has been supporting the BJP by providing MLAs to form the government.” Referring to the recent attack on social activist Rama Kankonkar, he added that such incidents reflect a larger problem, stating, “Those who speak against the government are suppressed. Law and order has plummeted, illegal constructions are rampant, illegal mining continues, and women are not safe.”

Kejriwal emphasised that Goans want safety and basic facilities, calling them fundamental rights. “AAP will form the government in 2027 on its own,” he asserted.
The former Delhi chief minister was received at the airport by Delhi Leader of Opposition Atishi Marlena and AAP Goa unit chief Amit Palekar. Ahead of his visit, Kejriwal alleged a “BJP-Congress alliance” in Goa, accusing the two national parties of corruption, violence, and gundaraj in the state over the past 13 years.
He criticised the BJP government for illegal construction, unauthorised iron ore mining, frequent power cuts, unemployment, declining tourism, and crimes against women. “Goa has witnessed massive illegal construction, rampant corruption, state-sponsored gundaraj, deteriorating law and order, high crime rates, poor roads, and an assault on Goan culture,” Kejriwal maintained.
A senior party official said Kejriwal’s itinerary includes inaugurating an AAP office in Mayem on Saturday, meeting South Goa volunteers in Curtorim at 3.30 pm, addressing North Goa volunteers in Mapusa on Sunday, and highlighting poor road conditions on Monday.
