Licences of 2 pharmacies suspended

PANJIM: The Directorate of food and Drugs Administration has suspended the retail drug licences of two pharmacies due to irregularities committed, with the licence of M/s Ayush Chemist & Druggist, Khobra vaddo, Calangute suspended for two days and that of M/s Avinash Medical Stores Chemist & Druggist, Ela Old Goa suspended for one day.

PANJIM: The Directorate of food and Drugs Administration has suspended the retail drug licences of two pharmacies due to irregularities committed, with the licence of M/s Ayush Chemist & Druggist, Khobra vaddo, Calangute suspended for two days and that of M/s Avinash Medical Stores Chemist & Druggist, Ela Old Goa suspended for one day. 
FDA has, in a statement issued here, said that the licences were suspended on grounds of conducting sale in absence of Registered Pharmacist, selling of prescription Schedule H drugs without recording the names of the prescriber and non- maintenance of purchase and sales records which are all in contravention of the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 
According to the FDA director, both the above Medical Stores were warned in the past to ensure that such lapses are not be repeated in future and to run their medical business in a responsible manner in larger public health safety.
