Lineman suspended for power theft

An Assistant Lineman was on Thursday suspended for allegedly tapping power for his house in Vasco.
The order suspending Lalsab Sulibavi from service pending inquiry was today issued by the Chief Electrical Engineer Nirmal Braganza.
He was allegedly shown pilfering power for his own house, by two TV channels. In fact, taking cognizance of the TV footage, Power Minister Aleixo Sequeira had instituted an inquiry.
Based on the TV footage and enquiries made, the suspension order was issued by the chief electrical engineer.
“The departmental inquiry has been ordered and we’ll not hesitate to take severest action against the lineman as it’s a shame that one of our own staff members is caught in the act”, Sequeira said at a press briefing in the Secretariat.
He thanked the person who exposed the pilferage indulged in by the lineman by bringing it to the notice of the media. “I would like to request the members of the public to bring such cases to light” Sequeira said assuring strict action in such cases.
