Mapusa cops book four for forgery

Say quartet allegedly forged documents to transfer rights of plot at Serula Comunidade

PANJIM: The Mapusa Police have registered a case against four persons from Porvorim and also some unknown persons for allegedly forging documents for transferring the rights of a plot at Comunidade of Serula at Penha De Franca village.

According to the police, the FIR has been registered on the complaint of one Ankit Madhu Salgaonkar from Anjuna, Bardez.

Ankit has alleged that Aparna Halornekar, Ankush Halornekar, Peter Martins and Vijayanand Shirodkar along with unknown persons impersonated the clerk in charge/UDC of Comunidade of Serula and prepared valuable document by forging the content, signature on certificate by using counterfeit stamps.

The accused thereafter, dishonestly used the forged certificate as genuine before the authorities during the documentary transaction in respect of landed plot no 8 in survey no 138/1 of village Penha De Franca and succeeded in transferring the rights of the landed plot thereby cheated the concerned authorities.

The Mapusa police have registered the FIR under sections 170, 197, 198, 205, 255, 464, 465, 466, 468, 471, 473, 474 and 420 read with 34 IPC. Further investigation is under progress, police said.
