PANJIM: Stating that Mapusa has been with BJP for the last 22 years and that this will continue this time as well; Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed confidence that Joshua D’Souza will win the by-poll.
Addressing mediapersons during a campaign in the ward of Congress Candidate and Mapusa municipality councilor Sudhir Kandolkar amidst several BJP supporters and party workers on Monday late evening, CM said that he had purposely come to Mapusa along with the Calangute MLA and Acting Speaker, Michael Lobo to campaign for Joshua.
“The strength of women, youth and the party support received by Joshua is great. Seeing this I am confident Joshua will win this election. The people of Mapusa will elect him and send him to the Assembly,” said Sawant.
Speaking further on the unemployment issue plaguing the State, he pointed out that the government is committed towards solving the same. “It has been increasing in North Goa and the government is aware of the same and will try and tackle this problem. The Mopa International airport will also help in creating employment opportunities” said Sawant.
The BJP candidate, Joshua D’souza said that he had received an overwhelming response and the people are coming forward to support him which shows that the Mapusa seat will come to the BJP.
