MAPUSA: The Mapusa Merchants Association has threatened to protest peacefully the irregularities in the municipal market at Hutatma Chowk on August 15.
Association President Ashish Shirodkar said that there should be some discipline in the market.
Speaking after jointly inspecting the market with the municipal inspectors on Friday, Shirodkar said, “The authorities are turning a blind eye towards illegalities in the market and no corrective measures are being adopted. They cannot just fill migrant vendors more than the capacity the market can hold. All these vendors are sitting in front of our shops and jeopardizing our business.”
