Mapusa Sessions Court Grants Bail to Differently-Abled Man Arrested in Obscenity Case

A Sessions Court in Mapusa has granted bail to a 33-year-old differently-abled man from Beed, Maharashtra, who was arrested by Panaji Police in connection with an alleged obscenity case.

According to the allegations, the accused had reportedly made WhatsApp video calls to a woman, during which he allegedly sent obscene images and videos and made inappropriate gestures.

While granting bail, the court directed that the accused be released on a personal bond of ₹30,000 along with one local surety of the same amount.

The court also imposed several conditions on the accused. He has been directed to report to the police station once every month and cooperate with the investigation and trial whenever required. Additionally, the court instructed him not to contact the complainant or her family members and to refrain from committing any similar offence.

The accused was arrested on February 13 and had been in judicial custody prior to being granted bail.
