MARGAO: The Indian National Congress Margao Block announced on Monday that it would celebrate the 78th Independence Day in a unique way.
Addressing a press conference alongside Adv Snehal Onskar, Aneil Alvares, Lincoln Gomes, Camilo Camara, Anwar Naroo, Lalan Parsekar, Robert Vaz, Clifford Dias, Sujata Parsekar, Khurram Kazi, and others, Savio Coutinho announced the creation of a “WALL OF FREEDOM.” This initiative invites the general public to share their thoughts on freedom by expressing their views in one sentence. The topic for this exercise will be “What Freedom of India Means to me.”
“Blocks will be marked on a flex wall, where citizens can write their views on India’s Freedom. They can opt to write in any of the 4 languages ie. Konkani, Hindi, Marathi or English”, Margao Congress leader Coutinho informed.
Attractive prizes shall be given to the best views expressed on the “Wall of Freedom”. To promote the reading habits, special prizes in the form of Life Time Membership of the South District Library shall also be presented to the winners, he informed further.
The program will be held on August 15, at 9.30 am onwards, at the Communidade building, near Margao Municipal garden, next to Kamat hotel.
This program is conceptualized to bring about the patriotic feelings of our countrymen, informed Aneil Alvares.
Lincoln Gomes appealed to one and all to participate in the programme
and stated that the participation is not limited to citizens of Margao only, but is open to everyone.
