PONDA: Factories and Boilers Minister Deepak Dhavalikar said MGP may propose an amendment to the Agricultural Tenancy Act in the July assembly session.
Dhavalikar was speaking at the general body meeting of MGP at Dhavli-Ponda on Sunday, where the old committee members were elected unopposed. Dhavalikar was retained as the party president, while about seven new members were inducted in the central committee. Ponda MLA and party treasurer Lavu Mamledar and all other central committee members were present.
Speaking further, Dhavalikar said MGP will constitute Kul-Mundkar Advisory Committee of MGP consisting of advocates and senior party workers to study the effects of the amendment in the Act.
“As panic prevails among a large number of farmers due to the amendment, the party has taken this decision. The advisory committee will study if this amendment is appropriate and whether it will benefit or affect the Kul-Mundkars in the State,” he said.
