MGP to finalise list of candidates today

PANJIM: Maharashtrawadi Gomantak party (MGP) will hold its parliamentary committee committee on Monday to finalise the list of its 8 candidates who will fight on BJP-MGP alliance.
The party will be contesting on Benaulim, Nuvem, Thivim, Ponda, Dabolim, Priol, Madkai and Quepem constituencies. Sources stated that the parliamentary committee was supposed to meet on Sunday but it was postponed till Monday afternoon.
It will support BJP in 31 constituencies and also Nirmala Sawant in Cumbharjua constituency.
MGP’s sitting MLA’s Sudin Dhavalikkar and Deepak Dhavalikar will be contesting from Madkai and Priol constituency respectively while Lavu Mamlekar has already started campaign in Ponda constituency.
Prakash Arjun Velip will be contesting from Quepem constituency and Pratap Mardolkar will be in Dabolim.
The party is on look out for candidates in Benaulim, Nuvem and Thivim constituencies. Sources stated that efforts are on to convince Kiran Kandolkar to contest from Thivim constituency.
