PANJIM: The Goa Government on Tuesday continued the cross examination of Karnataka Government’s witness Prof A K Gosain before the Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal (MWDT) when the matter resumed for hearing after a month long break.
After exposing Gosain on the aspect of rainfall runoff coefficient and liner regression, the witness was cross examined on the aspect of the method used for measuring discharge data at Ganjem station. This time too, Gosain failed to prove his observations made in the report.
During the hearing, the Additional Solicitor General of India Atmaram Nadkarni, appearing on behalf of Goa, pointed out before the witness the contradictions between his report, the central water commission (CWC) report of 2003 and 2014.
The witness in his report has started that prior to 2001, at Ganjem discharge site, the measurements for depths of more than two meters done by the current meter method by wading and informed that the source for his information was CWC report.
However, the witness was confronted with the fact that no such mention is there in the CEC report 2003 and 2014.
The cross examination will continue on Wednesday.
