Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Monday highlighted the state government’s key achievements and future vision while addressing the Goa Legislative Assembly, asserting that governance in Goa remains focused on development, public welfare, and security.
The Governor said the Mhaje Ghar housing scheme introduced by the state government has helped fulfil the long-cherished dream of home ownership for many Goans. He noted that the scheme has ended decades of uncertainty for families aspiring to own houses, thereby enhancing the overall happiness and well-being of the people.

Outlining the state’s long-term development roadmap, the Governor said Goa has set 2037 as its target year to become a developed state. He added that the Goa Vision 2050 document, currently in its final stage, will act as a comprehensive blueprint for Vikasit Goa, in alignment with the national vision of Vikasit Bharat 2047.
On the law and order front, Governor Raju said Goa has achieved an impressive 87.72 per cent crime detection rate, reflecting the government’s commitment to strong vigilance and a citizen-centric policing approach. He further assured that the law and order situation in the state is under control and that necessary steps are being taken to ensure public safety.
The Governor also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing next-generation GST reforms, stating that these measures have strengthened both ease of living and ease of doing business. He noted that Goa’s economy continues on a positive growth trajectory, recording a 14.94 per cent growth rate in 2023–24, as per estimates from the Ministry of Statistics.
The Governor’s address set the tone for the ongoing Winter Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, with a strong emphasis on development, governance reforms, and economic growth.
