MARGAO: Just out of jail, Nuvem MLA Francisco Mickky Pacheco will be touring the constituency on Monday after attending the Colva Fama mass.
Pacheco whose return to Betalbatim has become the key talking point throughout the village has already been meeting supporters who have celebrated his return.
Pacheco, who has already sounded the bugle for the next elections promising to expand his party not just to Salcete, but all of Goa, is set to meet his support base across Nuvem constituency.
If you speak to Pacheco, one of the mainstays of the conversation with him is how he managed to satisfy and addressed the needs of his constituency even though he was in jail through his charitable trust and the staff at his offices.
When asked if he would accept an offer of the ministry given by the BJP given his recent criticism of the present government, he said he could work alone as well without any post and his concern is the people. He used the example of his own case and pointed out that it was not a case of cheating that he was only raising an issue that concerned the public at large.
Pacheco also spoke about his ‘resting time’ after working a lot in life and how he managed return to baking in jail which he enjoyed as it was incidentally his old job.
When asked if he had called on any of the politicians, he said he was keen on meeting his supporters first and had not called on anyone and it was upto those who wanted to meet him to call on him.
When asked if he was planning to contest on GVP itself he said there was time for that and first he wanted to tour whole of Goa and get a sense of what the people wanted.
The sympathy wave in Nuvem is evident by the slew of people trying to wish him.
and his Monday’s Nuvem visit is expected to draw huge crowds across the pancahyat areas of the vast Nuvem constituency as he makes his first visit since the entire jail controversy and the run up to his eventual arrest
