Minor girl yet to be traced

It will be exactly two months on Tuesday that this 17-year old minor girl went missing from her house at Rawanfond on August 12 last.
Since then, the girl’s father Narendra Singh had been making repeated rounds of the Margao police station, with the hope that the men-in-uniform will help trace her whereabouts, but in vain.
“I don’t know the whereabouts of my daughter till date – whether she is alive or dead. The police has so far failed to trace her”, says Narendra, an employee of the Konkan Railway corporation.
Narendra was at the Mangalore junction when he received a call fro his wife at 6.30 am that her daughter has gone missing from the house.
“I had lodged a complaint with the Margao police giving the name of the suspect, a 22 –year old boy fro the same locality as being behind the kidnapping of my daughter. The police has done nothing to either trace my daughter or nab the boy”, he said.
Since the last two months, the complainant had been knocking the doors of the police as well as NGOs to locate her daughter.
The Margao police, when contacted, say they have registered a case of kidnapping against a 22-year old boy and the case is under investigation. Margao PI Santosh Desai, however, says that the police did everything to find out the whereabouts of the missing persons. “A police team was dispatched to Hubli after information revealed that the duo might he holed up there, but we could not lay our hands on the missing boy and girl”, he said.
PI Desai ruled out any political interference behind the failure of the police to trace the missing boy and girl.
“There is no political interference at all. If the complainant has information on the location of the boy and girl, the police will act immediately to trace them”, he added.
