PANJIM: The control unit cabin of a mobile tower situated at Dona Paula, was gutted in fire on Monday, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees.
According to Amit Rivonkar, Leading Fire Fighter of Fire and Emergency Service (FES), Panjim, the tower was installed in the Bella Vista Colony at the terrace of Kings Palace.

“The call regarding the fire was received by the Panjim Fire Station at around 10.15 am following which a fire tender with a team of four crew members was rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. It took around one hour to extinguish the fire,” Rivonkar told O Heraldo.
He said estimate of the loss is yet to be prepared.
