MARGAO: The State government has given a major facelift to the Fatorda Kadamba Transportation Corporation (KTC) bus stand and the area has turned into a high-security zone as Goa is all set to host Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting.
The security apparatus in the area was on their toes to bolster security.
A huge police force was deployed not only at the bus stand but all major traffic junctions in and around the area to maintain law and order.
A huge pandal at the KTC bus stand has been erected, besides at several other places such as the South Goa Collectorate Complex, parking area outside the bus stand, SGPDA ground, etc.
It has been also noticed that besides the security agencies, several office bearers and workers of the BJP were at the venue engaged in keeping arrangements and supervising the works carried out.
Speaking to reporters at the site former MP Adv Narendra Sawaikar, informed that arrangements have been almost completed and they are ready to host the event.
“People are very enthusiastic to hear the PM’s speech. It will be one of the successful public meetings of Modi. We will be hearing of the several works that have been initiated and completed under the leadership of the PM during the last 10 years of time period,” he stated.
He also expressed confidence that the public in large numbers will attend the meeting.
Anthony Barbosa, a local BJP leader said that it is a great opportunity for the people of South Goa to hear Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“All the party leaders and workers under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade and other leaders are working hard to make this event successful,” he stated.
