MARGAO: Goa Forward Party senior vice president Monica Dias was laid to rest at the Margao cemetery on Wednesday. The Eucharistic celebration was held at the Our Lady of Rosary Chapel.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, former MP Francisco Sardinha, Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro and the Mahila Congress members visited the late leader’s residence to express their sympathies to the bereaved family.
TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai said, “As a politician Monica had a desire to help every person who approached her. She was a symbol of political ethics who had sacrificed a Congress High Command position to join Goa Forward to serve Goem, Goenkar and Goenkarponn”.
MMC chairperson Babita Angle said, “Monica always pushed and motivated us at Goa Forward and was a motherly figure. We have lost an outspoken, true and a loving person and my heart goes out to her family who have suffered a big loss”.
Monica was laid to rest at 3.30 pm.
