The first rains of the season have exposed the government’s
abysmal failure to prevent disasters by completing pre-monsoon works. The rains
triggered a landslide at Verna along the Verna-Cortalim Highway occurred in the
wee hours of Friday with a huge amount of mud on the road.

Vas visited the site and instructed the DBL contractor and PWD officials to
clear the site. Work was carried out to clear the mud.
