VASCO: Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar is optimistic that the BJP will win 30 seats in the State 2022 Assembly elections on the basis of the grassroots level works done by the party and the State government.
Kavlekar also revealed that soon Mormugao Taluka will have its own Krishi Ghar for the farmers.
On Saturday, speaking to the media persons after the BJP party workshop at Sancoale, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “Whoever has worked for the people at the grassroots level even during the COVID-19 pandemic has been done by the BJP under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant. Other political parties have given their best on the social media and by criticising.
Kavlekar also pointed out that the State has also received a prestigious award from India Today as number one State in overall development. This itself is enough to show how well Chief Minister Dr Pramod sawant has worked.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a financial crises in past as there was no mining activities, no tourism, but in such time also he stood strong. Looking at the functioning and work done by the BJP I’m confident that in Zilla Parishad, municipal as well as 2022 Assembly elections BJP will emerge victorious with huge margin. I am also confident that in 2022 Assembly elections, the party will win 30 seats,” he said.
When asked what steps the Agriculture Department has taken to compensate the losses incurred by the farmers from Cortalim and Mormugao Taluka areas, the Deputy Chief Minister informed that under Shetkari Aadhar Nidhi, the farmers are receiving compensation. I have instructed the Zonal Agricultural Officers to go on the field and reach out to the Goan farmers and help them.
When inquired about the Zonal Agricultural Office for Mormugao Taluka, Kavlekar said that he is aware that the farmers from Mormugao Taluka have to go all the way from Mormugao to Margao to get their agricultural related works done, but soon there will be a Krishi Ghar, (Zonal Agricultural Office) for Mormugao Taluka and process has already started in that direction.
