NEW DELHI,  NOV 30
Goa’s Congress MP Shantaram Naik on Tuesday called on the Centre to denotify three SEZs (Special Economic Zone) projects in the State in the light of the Bombay High Court’s Panjim Bench quashing their land allotment.
“Since the  developers are now not having any land with them, the three SEZ proposals are deemed to  stand de facto denotified and all that now remains to be done is a formal notification issued by the government,” he said in a statement issued here.
He said he would be meeting Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, who is returning from abroad Tuesday night, in a day or two to request for denotifying the SEZ projects.
Naik said the ministry deemed fit not to denotify these SEZs earlier in view of the pending petitions of the promoters that now stand disposed of.
