MPA Dy Chairman washes hands off double tracking, says; ore transportation for K’taka earning revenue

Mormugao Port Authority Deputy Chairman G P Rai has said the doubling of tracks is a railway project and not a port project. “The port is only an export-import gate, doubling of tracks is a railway project and not a port project. If double tracking comes it is good for the port.

Transportation of Iron Ore from Karnataka is earning the port a good revenue. Rai also added that he is hopeful that the port will come back to its original position by 2024. Rai underlined that “Cruise tourism is not profitable for the Port, and it is more of a service to the State. Three to four berths will be reserved for cruises,” he stated.
