MARGAO: Azia Avis Rodrigues, who was arrested for allegedly murdering her 2-year-old daughter, is still being treated at the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour. And the victim child was buried on Thursday after her father arrived from his overseas job.
It is learnt that her husband left for his overseas job in May this year and since then Azia was apparently quite depressed and complaining of being neglected by her husband who, she said, was not calling her any longer and suspected that he was having an affair with another woman.
However, the husband denied having any affair and in fact said that he had very good relationship with his wife and accused her of not receiving his calls when he called from abroad.
Apparently the two were friendly right from the time the girl was in school as both hail from Colva itself. The child’s grandmother stated that she was not allowed to even touch the child and she was restricted to being on the ground floor and not allowed to come to the first floor.
