BJP State Executive member, Shaikh Jina said the time has come for the Muslim community to teach a lesson to the Congress and not vote for the party in the Valpoi by-polls, besides Congress-backed candidates in the ensuing municipal polls.
“All Muslim, in respect of differences should remain united to fight the biased Congress government policies”, Jina said, adding that the Muslim community has been asking the state government for land for the proposed Kabrastan, but has only been given empty promises by the successive governments, including present Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat.
He said it is heartening to note that the Muslim community has realized that the Congress government in Goa led by Digambar Kamat has been using the community as a “tissue paper”.

“It is indeed an insult to the Muslim community that Ward No 3 of the MMC has been reserved for the ST community though the ward has large number of Muslim electorate. Similarly, ward No 15 and 17 have been reserved for OBCs to keep away the BJP contestants”, he added.
