A large group of residents from the Navelim constituency, led by Advocate Pratima Coutinho, staged a protest at the Margao Police Headquarters, demanding the arrest of Bajrang Dal President Viraj Dessai and Gaurakshak President Ravindra Bhagwan Redkar.
The demonstration witnessed the participation of youths from the Navelim constituency along with members of the Rumdamol Panchayat, who gathered in significant numbers to press for police action against the two leaders.
Following the protest, a delegation headed by Advocate Pratima Coutinho met Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Siddant Shirodkar and submitted formal complaints regarding the matter. The delegation urged the police to initiate appropriate legal action, stating that timely intervention was necessary to preserve peace, communal harmony, and law and order in the Navelim constituency.
The protesters expressed hope that the authorities would examine their complaints and take action in accordance with the law to ensure that harmony and public tranquillity are maintained in the region.
