PANJIM: Though the final candidate list is ready, Congress is no mood to reveal its cards before others do. The central election committee of the Congress met in the national capital and went through the final list, the approval of which is likely to come through in the next two to three days.

When contacted Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Subhash Shirodkar told Herald that the list is ready and their final decision would be out in a day or two.

In an interesting development Mayor Yatin Parekh was called to Delhi by the Congress. Though Corporation of the City of Panjim (CCP) corporator Surendra Furtado was being considered for the Panjim ticket, the possibility of Parekh getting a ticket cannot be ruled out, said a source.

Though Congress-NCP alliance has not been announced yet, the deal has been sealed with Congress agreeing to allot a total of seven seats to the NCP. Consensus was reached on five seats that included Tivim, Vasco, Saligao, Mapusa and Porvorim — talks could not progress due to disagreement on remaining two seats.
