Nepali arrested for assault at Benaulim

MARGAO: Colva police arrested a native of Nepal, Hari Bhuda Toka, 26 working as cook at a shack in Benaulim for attempt to murder Vibhuv Kapila, 33, of New Delhi.

MARGAO: Colva police arrested a native of Nepal, Hari Bhuda Toka, 26 working as cook at a shack in Benaulim for attempt to murder Vibhuv Kapila, 33, of New Delhi. 
Vibhuv who has suffered grievous injuries on head had been admitted in critical condition at Apollo Victor Hospital, Margao. Colva police has registered offence under section 307 IPC attempt to murder against accused Thoka.
According to police, a group of 30 persons including females from New Delhi who had come down to Goa for marriage and staying at a resort in Benaulim were enjoying pre-weeding party at a shack, on Benaulim beach. 
At around 2.30 am on January 13, a group of Russian ladies who were at the shack approached the group who were applying “mendi” on them and were curious in knowing what they were doing. 
However, the Russians when explained in English were not able to comprehend and the accused Thoka is believed to have offered to act as interpreter and explain to them when some gents from the group are learnt to have made fun of accused. 
An annoyed Thoka ran inside and attacked the victim with a “nirpanem” (iron object) on the head cause grievous injuries.
