Newly-married woman suffers burn injuries while cooking

PONDA: A newly-married woman suffered around 70 per cent burn injuries in an accident, while cooking in her kitchen on Thursday.

PONDA: A newly-married woman suffered around 70 per cent burn injuries in an accident, while cooking in her kitchen on Thursday.
Eighteen-year-old Anamika Kumari Singh, a native of Bihar, is currently residing with her twenty-two-year-old husband Manoj Singh at Tisk in Usgao.
According to Ponda police, the incident took place at 8 pm on Thursday, when she was cooking and an utensil from a shelf above the stove fell on the burner, causing flames, which subsequently engulfed the victim. 
Fortunately, her husband, who was in the vicinity, immediately took her to the Public Health Centre, Usgao and then to Goa Medical College Hospital, Bambolim.
Ponda Deputy Collector Navnath Naik recorded Anamika’s statement at the hospital, wherein the victim reportedly said she accidently suffered burn injuries while cooking. It is learnt that Anamika and Manoj tied the knot six months ago in an arranged marriage. Both are employed at Nestle.
