PANJIM: MARG trust has demanded that November 16 be observed as MARG Day.
Addressing media persons, MARG trust convenor Gurunath Kelekar said that all activists who have been raising concerns about road safety feel that November 16 be observed as MARG Day, as it was on that day the activists came together to take its work forward in the direction of a ‘Borem Goem’.
Kelekar also announced various initiatives taken up by the trust, like civic clubs in high schools, mahila wing, etc. The trust now wants to put in place a two-wheeler owners’ association, which will provide public transport to commuters. The association will demand for discount on petrol from the government for providing the service.
The trust intends to start a membership drive in the State for all Goans to be members of the association and to enlist 1000 MARG ‘mogis’ by collecting a Re 1 token donation.
