Nigerian held with drugs worth over Rs 50 lakh

Pernem police raided a house at Manshiwada, Korgao and arrested Ifechukwu David Madukwe with suspected narcotic substance

PERNEM: In a raid at Korgao, Pernem Police arrested a Nigerian and seized drugs worth Rs 50,90,000.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a house at Manshiwada, Korgao in Pernem and arrested 30-year-old Nigerian- Ifechukwu David Madukwe with the suspected narcotic substance. 
The police seized 309 gms of suspected cocaine and 200 grams of suspected MDMA all worth Rs 50,90,000 from him. 
The raiding team was headed by PI Sandesh Chodankar. The other members of the team were PSI Sanjit Kanolkar, PSI Vivek Kanolkar, constables Anand Bhaidkar, Rupesh Korgaonkar, Vinod Sharma, Vishnu Gad and Gurudas Mandrekar.
Pernem police have registered a case under Sections 21(c) and 22(c) of NDPS Act against the Nigerian. 
It may be recalled that Pernem Police had arrested a Himachal native Bhupindar Kumar with drugs recently.
According to Pernem Police, a team headed by PSI Sanjit Kanolkar conducted raid between 12.05 pm to 1.55 pm at Arambol parking lot and arrested the accused with drug suspected to be charas worth Rs 1.4 lakh approximately.
The accused was staying at a guesthouse Khalchawada, Arambol. Pernem police booked a case under the NDPS Act. 
On Monday, Anjuna Police had arrested Wasif Mohammad Yosuf, resident of Srinagar for possessing LSD papers.
