Nilesh elected PMC chief

Nilesh Pednekar was on Tuesday elected unopposed chairperson of Pernem Municipal Council (PMC).
Bardez Deputy Collector Dashrath Redkar was the returning officer for the election held in the PMC Hall. Except for Councilor Resha Mashelkar, all the other nine councilors were present for the meeting. It may be recalled that the post had fallen vacant after chairperson Nutan Aroskar resigned from the post to pave way for Nilesh Aroskar as per the mutual agreement.
However, despite the agreement, Aroskar also filed her nomination for the post of chairperson, but withdrew her nomination at the last moment on Tuesday and Nilesh was elected unopposed.
