BICHOLIM: With rains Chorla Ghat might have given rise to several waterfalls but the COVID restrictions helped the nature to live without getting disturbed.

It may be stated that every year during monsoon Chorla Ghat used to attract locals and tourists who used to throng the area to enjoy a bath in the waterfalls.
Such was their enthusiasm that it was getting difficult for the police and the administration to control the crowd. The deputy collector had to give special notice to restrict use of alcohol in the forest areas.
This year, however, since there are restrictions to visit this ghat no people are seen at these waterfalls.
The check-post at the foot of the ghat in Keri Sattari restricts the vehicle entry and proper checking of documents is done by the police. In view of this no visitors are seen at these waterfalls.
As there are no visitors to disturb the serenity of the place it has helped nature retain the environment. There is also no problem of garbage being dumped in the area.
The only ones who are seen at these waterfalls are the people who ply towards Belgavi. At times the travellers halt for few minutes to enjoy the waterfalls.
