North Goa District Administration Reviews Monsoon Preparedness Ahead of Rainy Season

A meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) was held under the chairmanship of Ankit Yadav to review preparedness measures for the upcoming monsoon season in North Goa.

During the meeting, directions were issued to all deputy collectors and mamlatdars to ensure that taluka-level control rooms remain operational round-the-clock throughout the monsoon period.

Authorities including the Public Works Department (PWD), Water Resources Department (WRD), municipalities, and village panchayats were instructed to undertake proactive preventive measures in waterlogging-prone zones, landslide-sensitive areas, and locations with dilapidated structures.

Officials also shared a list of vulnerable spots with all concerned departments and stakeholders for immediate action and monitoring.

A detailed taluka-wise review of preparedness was conducted during the meeting, with line departments directed to implement mitigation measures in advance to minimise risks to life and property during the monsoon season.

The district administration emphasised coordinated planning and timely action to ensure public safety and effective disaster response during periods of heavy rainfall.
