North Goa Special Court Acquits Two Socorro Residents in Assault, Caste Abuse Case

The North Goa Special Court has acquitted Socorro residents Viraj Pirankar and Jitendra Halankar of charges including assault, criminal intimidation and caste-based abuse under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The court examined the evidence presented during the trial before reaching its decision. Following the proceedings, Pirankar and Halankar were acquitted of the charges brought against them in the case.
