MAPUSA: The North Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has accused the North Goa MP, Shripad Naik of neglecting development works during his four terms as Lok Sabha BJP MP.
The committee has challenged Naik to prepare a report on the works undertaken by him during the last 20 years and submit the same to the people.
The North Goa Pradesh Congress president Vijay Bhike stated that Shripad has not only failed to utilise the MP funds for the development of North Goa, but has also kept himself away from the people who voted him to power. He claimed that during election time Naik gets active. He is a ‘poster boy’ and known for his Ayurvedic camps before the elections.
The North Goa Congress chief also raised the issue regarding the failure of turning the Ibrampur in Pernem taluka into a smart village.
“This rural village was adopted under the ‘Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’. It is almost three and a half years ever since the inauguration was held to take up this work but till today there is no sign of even basic infrastructure. This village does not even have basic facilities such as electricity, water, education and health,” claimed Bhike while addressing media persons at Mapusa.
“Whatever schemes come into force these people only introduce them, inaugurate the works and disappear. We need to know where this money is going and demand an inquiry on this village and its status,” he demanded.
