PANJIM: Even though mining dependents persons and ancillary industries have claimed losses, there is a section of the public benefiting economically from the stoppage of mining activity, as indicated by the improvement in agricultural yield and with others exploring new options, a survey released Monday says.
The Survey of Environmental &Socio-Economic Impact of Interim Ban on Mining in Goa by EIA Resource and Response Centre (ERC), Goa, has argued that if the ban on mining continues and economic and environmental alternatives explored, the state on the whole could make a successful recovery from the adverse impact
