Notified but not marked

“The bus stops are already notified. They have only to be marked,” says Director of Transport Arun Dessai.

“The bus stops are already notified. They have only
to be marked,” says Director of Transport Arun Dessai.
He however says that action is being taken against
these errant busses but to no avail. In all this the
commuter suffers, being pushed into buses like
sardines and also the cars and bikes being forced to
idle, wasting fuel and polluting the atmosphere, not
taking into consideration the inconvenience caused
and the delays.
“Police have been taking action. We are issuing
challans for obstruction of traffic. But the power
to suspend them is only with the RTO,” says Arvind
Gawas SP traffic.
But authorities express their helplessness saying
that these bus operators just don’t care. For commuters,
it is a slow crawl. But one thing is sure. At
least they will be dropped right in front of which ever
gate they want. And damn the long lines of cursing
honking vehicles stuck behind these city buses.
