PANJIM: The Maddi of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Panjim was held on Tuesday evening. The Maddi was followed by mass.
Parish Priest Fr Walter D’Sa blessed the flag and hoisted the flag of Our Lady. “This is a ceremonial proclamation to the people that we are beginning the novenas of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception from Wednesday,” Fr D’Sa said. The parishioners came in procession from the church to the venue of the Maddi along with priests, the Confraria and altar servers. The solemn feast will be celebrated on December 8.
Fr Walter D’Sa invited all the parishioners and others to participate in the liturgical services. “This year, the reflection will be on the pastoral letter whose theme is based on the words of Jesus, “Do what I have done.” It implies service to people and to humanity. Whatever we do for others we will be doing it for Christ. We will receive a great award when we reach our heavenly home,” Fr D’Sa said.
The timings of the daily novena masses from November 29 to December 7 will be as follows: 7 am (Konkani), 8 am (English), 6 pm (Konkani for zones). The December 8 feast Masses will be as follows: (outside) masses will be at 6 am (Konkani), 7.30 am (Konkani), 8.30 am (English) and 5 pm (Konkani).
